The Academy Is...

My first actual music post has to be about the pop punk Chicago based band , The Academy Is...

We all should know about my slight obsession with William Beckett (leadsinger) because I have a blog about that too. Strange aint it?

The Academy Is... is an amazing band, they can easily adapt and change. William has beautiful vocals and his lyrics bring another meaning to this planet. Hey why would you ever say you're drunk when you can say you have an intoxicated circulation? Oh and not only is William a freakishly amazing writer but he looks like a GOD !

Besides William, his amazing voice, and his lyrics to die for, there's Carden who does a lot of the back up vocal and guitar. Gabe(Cobra Starship) once said 'Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect, and that's what Mike Carden embodies, PERFECTION' and I mean, they were completely right.

The there's Chizzy, the beautiful super nice blond Australian. He's the other guitarist. He's amazingly nice and super humble. Also he's freaking adorably gorgeous. And if you think he isn't that important, listen to Almost Here then Listen to Fast Times and compare the guitars. Chizzy is what TAI was missing.

After Chizzy comes one of my favoritee kids in the universe, mister Adam T. Siska, also known as Sisky Biz. Not only is he a super rad bassist, but he's freaking beautiful, funny and supper nice. Also he's the youngest in the band.

And finally, the coolest drummer in town Andrew Mrotek also known as... BUTCHER ! Okay, so this super cool dude not only is mage nice, and covered in tats. But he's got the most amazing drummer skills IN LIKE THE UNIVERSE.

As an overall band TAI is amazing, they are like that bittersweet kind of things, and Almost Here (first album) is a perfect combination of sour and fruity. Santi (second album) was more bitchy (that's the only way ifeel makes justice to the greatest album to grace the face of this planet) and Fast Times at Barrington High is the sweet savory pop we find quite often. They sound amazing over CD but live, its beyond explicable. Williams voice is seriously that smooth, prefect and pure. The guys tend to make eye contact with people in the crowd and William seems to enjoy jumping off things twice his height (which is 6'3"). The Academy Is... is my favorite band, and is one of the greatest bands I've ever listened to.
